Wingspan: 11-14mm. Breeding or gen. det. required for identification
Flight time: June

Food plants include Elm, Birch, Alder and Hazel
Mine: Late September to late October and April-June
The larva forms two cases, the first from a leaf fragment, in which the larva hibernates. The second case is formed in May and has a more or less serrated dorsal keel.
