Wingspan: 23-30mm

Flight time: June-August, September-October.

Two distinct forms occur, the typical form having a dark band, the plain form, ab. remutata only with narrow cross-lines.

Larval food plants: Dandelion, Dock, Chickweed, Primrose, Bedstraw
