Family: Noctuidae Sub-family: Amphipyrinae 2300 * Old Lady * Mormo maura Widespread but scarce Wingspan: 55-65mm Flight time: July-August Habitat: Damp woodland, marshes, gardens and waste ground. Hides in sheds and old buildings during the day. Larval feed on a range of herbaceous plants in the autumn and usually on leaves of woody plants (including Blackthorn) during spring. |
