Widespread, fairly common
Wingspan: 12-17mm. Very variable species
e.g f. decorana, orange area over mid-part of forewing (photo below)

Flight time: July-August


Food plant: Sallow (Salix) and Poplar (Populus).
Larvae feed in catkins or between two leaves spun together
