Wingspan: 4-5mm
Flight time: Two generations, May and August

Food plant: Birch (Betula spp.)
Mine: June-July and September-October
Egg underside, often in leaf axil. A slender corridor, initially strongly contorted and causing a brown spot in the leaf. Later stages straighter, often following a vein. Corridor +/- filled with coiled, greenish frass.
